Focus on Your God-Given Strengths

No one else has your unique design, and God has a purpose for how he made you. This means there is no future in worshipping your weakness.

If you were just like everyone else, what would you have to offer the world?

It is imperative to forgive yourself, without mental reservation, for your stupid choices, inappropriate thoughts, limiting words, foolish behaviors, negative beliefs, and all of the other self-defeating things you’ve ever done.

Can you practice forgiving yourself on a regular basis and mean it sincerely?

Never let an old wound fester due to excessive attention. When you carry around bitterness, hostility, and other emotional baggage, you live in the past and cannot possibly realize your potential for joy.

How is your emotional baggage and resentment affecting your self-concept and your potential for joy?

The True Source of Self-Worth

Legitimate, lasting self-worth can come only from God’s love, from knowing and experiencing who you are as a new creation in Christ. See yourself as a child of God. You are God’s special enterprise! If you keep thinking about yourself the way you used to be, that is exactly what you will continue to be.
